Problem: The 14th amendment states "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." Because of this illegal immigrants are coming to America and having children, so their children have the rights of American citizens. This is a problem because they are here illegally, but then get to stay because their children are technically birthright citizens. They are becoming American citizens, taking American jobs, and overall leaching from our economy.
This also created problems for the legal citizens of America. Illegal immigrants are coming into America and taking jobs away from legal US citizens. “I do not believe that is fair for an immigrant who has become a legal, American citizen to not benefit from the same compensations, but there are some cases where these immigrants are 'playing the system.' Immigrants will work long hours and accept lower wages. It is believed that 8.5 million jobs in the United States are held by illegal immigrants. I don’t believe that it is fair that they are not legal citizens and can have a job over an American citizen who can’t find work at all.” States journalist.

This pie graph shows the amount of immigrants vs. the amount of American citizens in regards to net job growth as of 2000-2014. The graph shows that jobs for foreign people are growing a lot more then when jobs for native people are not.

In other words, the real problem in illegal immigration is national security. These numbers show that thousands of illegal immigrants come here every year, opening the doors for terrorists and criminals. Our efforts to close the borders have just sent them underground to the cartels, and other illegal organizations, causing this illegal culture to be encouraged. This is a strike against the 14th amendment due to the nature of these illegals. Becoming criminals and terrorists, breaking the laws, and creating unrest believing they are above the law, above the 14th amendment.
